Success in Sheffield Office Space Letting Signals Improvement in Market
Three large media companies recently gave the Sheffield letting market a shot in the arm when they rented a combined total of 6,500 sq. ft. of office space right in the heart of Sheffield city centre. The office space at MidCity House was leased by letting co-agents, Knight Frank and Lane Walker, working for Turner’s Investment development.
Tom Bottrill, a partner at Knight Frank, said that the MidCity House is a great location for the media houses which have taken the space, due to its central location and the added value of a historical business address in a significant part of town.
Rapture Promotions, which specialises in advertising and marketing, has taken up most of the space on lease - a whopping 4,500 sq. ft. This astonishing figure was arrived at during the final moments of the letting negotiations, and has come as a pleasant surprise to the remainder of the letting market. The other two media houses, 3squared and KDA Web Services, which specialise in software design and web hosting respectively, took up the rest of the leased office space. If you’re in the market for offices to let, a very good site to look at is desk space genie, it’s a website dedicated to office space and desk space rental.
This new development on the letting front signals the achievement of phase two of the redevelopment project, which, amongst other things, involves significant structural changes such as a brand-new glass reception area, which is to be created in the entrance of the building.
The Heart of the City project and Orchard Square shopping centre are both close to MidCity House, which still has office space available for letting (ranging from 800-8,000 sq. ft.) on the entire third floor as well as on part of the second floor of the building.
